Background of LP Sodh Udom Somboon Poon Suk Medal:
This medal, Ms. Saowanee Kampannip dreamt of herself and friend Ms. Walee Kunaratpanit going to pay respect to LP Sodh’s dead body. Ms. Saowanee said she saw LP Sodh floating down with 3 medals in his hand: 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal. LP Sodh gave silver medal to Ms. Saowanee, but Ms. Saowanee asked for gold medal that LP Sodh gave 1 gold medal to Ms. Saowanee and 1 gold medal to Ms. Walee. LP Sodh asked the two ladies about meaning of the medal. Ms. Saowanee said didn’t know, so LP Sodh said medal name “Udom Somboon Poon Suk” that means “being full of wealth and happiness”.
With this propitious dream, Ms. Saowanee and Ms. Walee presented to be host of making this medal on the occasion celebrating 100th birthday of LP Sodh during 23-25 November BE2527 (CE1984).
Ceremony: There was holy blessing for this medal in the Uposatha hall of Wat Pak Nam by abbot (Somdej Phra MahaRatChaMangkalaJarn) and monks.

The Biography of LP Sodh:
Phra Mongkol Thepmuni or LP Sodh of Wat Paknam was born on 10th October BE2427 (CE1884) at Supanburi Province. At young, Sodh was stayed with his Uncle who was a monk at Wat SongPhiNong, Supanburi Province. Until his Uncle leaved the Buddhist monkhood. Sodh moved to Wat BangPar, Nakhon Pathom Province, where Sodh started to study knowledge of Thai language, Cambodia language, Dharma and magic charms.
After his basic graduation, he went back to his home. At fourteen, after his father died, he became the chief bread winner for the family. He was successful in rice trading. At the age nineteen, he desired to ordain as a monk for whole life but he concerned on his mother. Then, he made arrangements for three years to ensure his mother’s welfare.
LP Sodh was ordained at the age of 22 at Wat SongPhiNong, Supanburi Province. LP has been an expert of concentration of mindfulness in Buddhism way. LP began meditation practice and study of Pali scriptures. In search of deeper and wider knowledge, he moved from Wat Songpeenong to Wat Bodhi, Bangkok.
LP Sodh passed away on 3 February BE2502 (CE1959)
