History of Phra Jow Sua:
Rian Jow Sua (old name: Rian Lor Chumkajang) first created by Luang Pu Boon of Wat Glarng-Bang-Gaow, Nakhon Pathom Province in 1934 CE on the occasion of 84th birthday of Luang Pu Boon. At that time, Rian Lor Chumkajang (medals) were given to people who donated money to temple. Because most donors were Chinese and rich, people called those medals Rian Jow Sua that Rian means a medal and Jow Sua means a rich Chinese man.
About LP Mahasurasak:
When talking about Samut Songkhram Province, we think of many skilled guru monks such as LP Kong of Wat Bang Kapom, LP Jai of Wat Sadet, LP Nueang of Wat Chulamanee and LP Yord of Wat Kaew Charoen. LP Mahasurasak (Birthday 6 July 1961) is abbot of Wat Pradu in Samut Songkhram Province. He keeps on superb mantras of famous guru monks in the past. Today, LP Mahasurasak is a top guru monk of Thailand. When there is a blessing ceremony, there is LP Mahasurasak. We often see him in many blessing ceremonies. LP Mahasurasak does not only have good knowledge of mantras, but also astrology and sculpture.
LP Mahasurasak was born in Samut Songkhram Province, so he is attached to his Province. Samut Songkhram people love and respect LP Mahasurasak very much because he is friendly to everyone. Some people who talked to LP Mahasurasak and got teachings from him repented and corrected their behaviors. Moreover, he develops his temple as a learning center of local wisdom for people in the community.
