Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

For Your Information: Luang Por Thong of Wat Khao Ta Krao, Phetchaburi Province is one legend of the five miraculous floating Buddha images in Thailand:
1. Luang Por Wat Rai Khing, Nakhon Pathom Province
2. Luang Por Sothon, Chachoengsao Province
3. Luang Por Wat Ban Laem, Samut Songkhram Province
4. Luang Por Yai, Wat Bangplee, Samut Prakan Province
5. Luang Por Thong, Wat Khao Ta Krao, Phetchaburi Province

The name ‘Thong’ means ‘gold’ due to the thick gold leaf on the Buddha. About ‘Wat Khao Ta Krao’, it is believed the builder was the Chinese millionaire and the conductor of construction had a long beard, so people called ‘Wat Khao Jin Krao’ (Jin: Chinese, Krao: beard) and later differently sounded to ‘Wat Khao Ta Krao’.

Luang Por Thong, Wat Khao Ta Krao has been respected by people in Thailand until now. LP Thong amulets are popularly collected and full of holiness.
