Description: Here a good set for collectors. It is rare because it was made when celebrating 200th anniversary of Rattanakosin era in 1982. These medals bear a holy image of Phra Kaeo Morakot or The Emerald Buddha and backside of medal has a personal emblem of King Rama 9 of Thailand.
There was holy blessing ceremony by monks at Wat Phrasrirattanasatsadaram on the auspicious occasion in 1982.
In fact, the wearing of Phra Kaeo Morakot is changed when the season has changed performed by the King every year. The style of Buddha on oval medal is adorned in the “hot season” while the drop-shaped is the “rainy season”.
Phra Kaeo Morakot or The Emerald Buddha is the most important Buddha statue in Thailand because it was established as the Buddha statue of Thailand when Rattanakosin Era was established by King Rama the First in 1782. It is kept in Wat Phrasrirattanasatsadaram (Wat Phra Kaew), Grand Palace in Bangkok. It is famous among foreign tourists as an outstanding attraction in Bangkok which they wish to see once in life.
