Luang Pu Thuad (1582-1682 CE) is a revered Buddhist monk in Thailand. He is said to have performed miracles. LP Thuad is mentioned in the early regional history of Southern Thailand, but his life is mainly preserved in oral. His journey throughout the Southern peninsula constitutes a path of pilgrimage for many of his followers.
LP Tim Dharmataro, abbot of Wat Chang Hai, Pattani Province was the pioneer creator of LP Thuad amulets. Old sacred amulets of LP Thuad are considered priceless and very powerful.
Many people in Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia believe that amulets created in LP Thuad image hold great protective power granting safety especially saving lives of believers from dangers and fatal accidents.
History of Wat Chang Hai:
Wat Chang Hai is the old temple that built more than 300 years. The sculpture of LP Thuad was built also as he was an abbot of the temple as well as his reputation. The architecture of stupa, chedi, temple, and bell tower are magnificently beautiful. LP Thuad being respected by people all over the country. LP Thuad passed away in Malaysia. His body was brought back to this Wat Chang Hai.
The Biography of LP Tim, Wat Chang Hai, Pattani Province:
LP Tim or Phra Kru WiSaiSoPhon was a former abbot of Wat Chang Hai in Pattanee Province and the first monk who created LP Thuad amulet. He was born on the 21st August 1912 in Pattanee Province.
At the age of 18, he got ordained as a novice at Wat NaPraDoo, Pattanee Province. Then he resigned to help his parents do the farm. At the age of 20, he got ordained as a monk at the same temple and became a teacher teaching Buddhist principles. In 1941, he became an abbot of Wat Chang Hai. He made LP Thuad amulets for sale in order to collect money to build the chapel and restore the area of Wat Chang Hai. LP Tim had begun being ill because of esophagus cancer in 1967. He passed away on the 30th November 1969. He was a good monk and helped people. Although he has gone, people remember him.
