History of Luang Por Suk Samrid:
Luang Por Suk Samrid is the holy Buddha image situated in the Ubosot, Wat Toom, Ayutthaya Province. This temple is assumed to be built before the second loss of Ayutthaya era.
Luang Por Suk Samrid is in “Marnvichai” style adorned with crown and accessories called “Song Krueang Yai” the art of ancient Ayutthaya. The real Buddha image is 87 cm wide and 150 cm tall.
Wonderful Water in the Buddha’s Head:
The crown of Luang Por Suk Samrid is openable. Inside is a deep hollow from the head to the neck of Buddha. In the past, there was a ceremony to bless a sword for the king at Wat Toom. This ceremony needed water from Buddha to mix with magical powder anointed on the sword. It’s wonderful that although making the inside dry, it is still water coming out.
