Material:carved from wood of the old chapel of Wat Rakhang around early Rattanakosin era

Size: 2.5 x 3.8 cm

Power: Phra Somdej is number one amulet in Thailand. It has been tied to Thai belief for a long time. The first Phra Somdej in history was created by Somdej Toh Phromrangsi (Wat Rakhang, Bangkok). People and gurus try to possess the original Phra Somdej because it is very powerful in protection, said with holiness of Phra Somdej any danger cannot damage the owner.

Ceremony: 2 times of auspicious blessing by famous guru monks such as LP Mahasurasak (Wat Pradu, Samut Songkhram Province), LP Somchai (Wat Pariwas, Bangkok) and the present Buddhist patriarch of Thailand was the president of the ceremony:
1. At Wat Ratbopit, Bangkok on 21 June 2017
2. At Wat Rakhang, Bangkok on 22 June 2017

Purpose of making: to earn donations for building the chapel at Wat Banpot Suttharan (Wang Ruen), Phichit Province

About Temple:
Wat Rakhang Kositaram or frequently called Wat Rakhang is the important old temple in Bangkok. It is situated on Thonburi side, opposite Tha Chang Wang Luang Pier. Wat Rakhang was built during the Ayutthaya period. This temple is famous for Somdej Toh, the great timeless monk of Thailand who was an original Phra Somdej creator and a former abbot here.
