Description: This medal is called “Rian Song Phanuad Palang Phandin” with image of King Bhumibol in monkhood, created and distributed by Siriraj Hospital in order to celebrate 84th birthday of His Majesty the King Bhumibol of Thailand. This medal was permitted to build by the king and proceeds after reduction were donated to the king’s project for buying medical equipment for Siriraj Hospital. This medal is as a gift from the king who seems the father of all Thai which is priceless and meaningful.
King Bhumibol had great faith in Buddhism. At age 20, the king got ordained as a monk at Wat Bowon, Bangkok for 15 days during 22 Oct. - 5 Nov. 1956. Got a Pali name “Phumipalo Phikhu” that means “a monk who is the power of nation”.
With complete dharma of king, the image of King Bhumibol in monkhood is full of pure holiness that can bring the owner safety and propitiousness.
About King Bhumibol:
Bhumibol Adulyadej (5 December 1927 – 13 October 2016), conferred with the title King Bhumibol the Great in 1987, was the ninth monarch of Thailand from the Chakri Dynasty as Rama IX. Having reigned since 9 June 1946, he was, at the time of his death, the world's longest-serving head of state and the longest-reigning monarch in Thai history, serving for 70 years, 126 days.
King Bhumibol was the most hard-working king ever in the world. He worked every day all his reign shown by his more than 4,000 projects for better life of Thai people in many aspects such as farming, water, soil, forests, cattle, education, science and technology, etc. , and also led “Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy”.
The king was more than the king. No any words can describe his virtues. We all Thai can repose our faith to the king wholeheartedly and altogether praise him “King of King Forever”.
