**Making this Phra Pidta Hu Kratai amulet was an idea of Luang Por Man Sujitto, a vice-abbot of Wat Huay Chorakhe in order to make money to develop and restore the temple. LP Man blessed this amulet and then asked Luang Por SaNgiam, a present abbot who is another famous guru monk of Nakhon Pathom Province to bless once more time to ensure the power.
**This Phra Pidta is a signature of Wat Huay Chorakhe. The original was created by LP Nark famously known as Phra Pidta Hu Kratai (Hu Kratai means a shape of rabbit ears) that is great in protection and wealth. When you go to Wat Huay Chorakhe, you will see big Phra Pidta Phim Hu Kratai statue. Building this Phra Pidta was handed down to LP SaNgiam who is a present abbot and LP Man (a vice-abbot) received this from LP SaNgiam.
For Your Information:
A plump Buddha with his hands covering his eyes is well-known as Phra Pidta in Thai belief. Idea of making Phra Pidta derived from Phra Sangkajai, an enlightened disciple of Buddha. Phra Sangkajai looked like Buddha. He did not want people to misunderstand, so he transformed himself into a fat monk. You can see Phra Pidta looks like Phra Sangkajai, but different that Phra Pidta puts his hands on his eyes to imply getting calmness of mind by avoiding seeing things. His image is said to bring wealth.
About Guru Monk:
Luang Por Man Sujitto (monk name: Sujitto) is a vice - abbot of Wat Huay Chorakhe, Nakhon Pathom. LP Man received magical knowledge from important senior monks of Wat Huay Chorakhe for example LP Nark and LP SaNgiam.
1) Luang Pu Nark (1815 - 1909 C.E) was the first abbot of Wat Huay Chorakhe. He was famous for holy ore Phra Pidta Hu Kratai amulet (Hu Kratai means a shape of rabbit ears) which is excellent in protection and wealth. One interesting thing is that he inscribed Yant (holy characters) on every Phra Pidta amulet. What makes Phra Pidta by LP Nark so different from others is that LP Nark blessed the amulet underwater. Nowadays, Phra Pidta amulet by LP Nark is very rare and expensive.
2) Luang Por SaNgiam (birth: 1949 CE) is an abbot of Wat Huay Chorakhe. He has developed Wat Huay Chorakhe in many ways. He is also a teacher of monks. His amulets are powerful.
In fact, LP Man is a nephew of LP SaNgiam. He is the originator of Phra Jow Sua King Asian amulet which is good in wealth.
