Description: This set consists of:
1. Brass Phra Kring, size 1.5 x 3.1 cm
2. Phra Pairee Pinard, holy powder, size 2.6 x 3.4 cm
- Phra Kring is a very auspicious amulet. Thai people believe Phra Kring can make the wishes of the wisher come true, bring wealth, good luck, prosperity, happiness and safety to the worshipper and also make the worshipper recover from illness or diseases. For curing, Thai gurus believe drinking holy water using Phra Kring can make illness gone.
One feature of Phra Kring is having a metal bead inside, making a sound when being shaken where the word Kring comes from.
You can make holy water by yourself. First, dip Phra Kring amulet in the water. Second, chant and pray. Third, blow on the water. Finally, drink the water. This water can be used to wash face or body to remove bad luck as well.
- Phra Pairee Pinard has been in Thai belief for a long time. The name means “enemies lose”. Thai people believe Phra Pairee Pinard has great protection against dangers and bad things, and worshiping Phra Pairee Pinard will bring good luck, success and prosperity.
Consecration: The two amulets were blessed in holy ceremony at Boworn, Bangkok on 3 October 2013 that Somdej Phra Yannasangwon was the president of the ceremony.
About Somdet Phra Yannasangwon:
Somdet Phra Yannasangwon (birth 3 October 1913 – passed away 24 October 2013, age 100) was the 19th Supreme Buddhist Patriarch of Thailand, appointed to the position in 1989 by King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Somdet Phra Yannasangwon did great work for Buddhism for example propagating dharma of Buddha in many countries, writing good dharma books for Buddhists to read in Thai and foreign languages and building temples and monk schools. Thai people love and respect him wholeheartedly.
Wat Boworn or full name “Wat Bowornniwet Rajaworavihan” is a major temple in Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, Thailand. The temple is a center of the Thammayut Nikaya school of Thai Theravada Buddhism and has been a major temple of patronage of Chakri dynasty.
Wat Boworn is located near the Wan Chart Bridge and Banglamphoo Market. Prince Mahasakdipolsep, vice-king of the Third Reign, ordered the construction of this temple along with Wat Rangsisuthawas and it was built between C.E. 1824 to1832.
Wat Boworn is the residence of members of the royal family who enter the monkhood. It has been the residence of many the supreme patriarchs of the Buddhist Church in Thailand, and it is the site of Mahamakut Rajavittayalai, Thailand's first Buddhist institution of the high education.
