About Temple:
Wat Nang Kui is a longtime temple in Ayutthaya Province assumed built in Ayutthaya era 2130 BE (1587 CE). After the end of Ayutthaya kingdom (lost to Burmese troops), Wat Nang Kui was damaged and deserted. Until the reign of King Rama the Third, the temple was restored. Today, this temple is more than 400 years old.
Wat Nang Kui is a good place for people to learn history because it is full of interesting old structures.
One signature is Luang Por Yim, the holy smiling Buddha image. This Buddha image has been at the temple for a long time. People told that the Buddha image floated along Chao Phraya River and stopped at the temple, then abbot and people held the ceremony to take the Buddha image to the chapel (Ubosod). Luang Por Yim is situated on the right side of the main Buddha statue in the chapel. When people come, they always get a kind smile from Buddha as welcome.
