**This time, we would like to introduce a good monk named Luang Por Somchai, an abbot of Wat Phrong Arkat, Chachoengsao Province.
LP Somchai is a developer. Since he came to Wat Phrong Arkat, he has done many projects to develop the temple. His latest work is building Ubosod (the chapel). Nearby people love and respect LP Somchai very much because he is always kind to everyone especially children whom he likes to speak English to for example How are you? What is your name? LP Somchai said he asks English questions to motivate children to speak English because most Thai students only learn English, but do not apply. In reality, LP Somchai is polite and smiling. Another, he is really positive.
Seconds of Death!!
LP Somchai was once injured by robbers. They broke at night while LP Somchai was resting. Robber cut him, but the blade did not irritate his throat. Then robber shot him, but fortunately the gun did not work. Robbers were so confused and finally they used hard stuff in the room to hurt LP Somchai until he passed out. However, robbers did not get anything because crew monks and people came to help.
Positive Thinking:
After the bad moment, although LP Somchai cannot walk normally due to injury on the back of his head (nerves to lower part are affected), he still cheerful and does not curse those robbers because he thinks life must go on and those will get karma (Buddhist term: results of what has been done). LP Somchai said walking slower made him more a very mindful monk (laughing).
Magical Knowledge:
When LP Somchai was young, he was furious like a young man and interested in mantras to protect himself. After being a monk, LP Somchai had a chance to study mantras and Kammatan (meditation) from senior experienced guru monks as follows:
1. LP Jae, Wat Pho Chalerm Rak, Chachoengsao Province
2. LP Thong, Wat Kon Kaew, Chachoengsao Province (Palad Khik master)
3. LP Simork, Wat Wang Tako, Chonburi Province
4. LP Sim, Wat Tham Pha Porng, Chiang Mai Province
LP Somchai said now he likes meditation more than magic. LP Somchai believes that strong mind power from meditation can make amulets holy. Other skilled guru monks think like this, too.
Popularity among worshipers:
LP Somchai has released amulets for people in order to make money to develop and restore his temple Wat Phrong Arkat. Worshipers found miracles like doing business well, winning the lawsuit and protecting from accidents. These experiences make amulets by LP Somchai sold out very quickly.
