About Guru Monk:
Luang Por Put Thaniyo (8 Feb. 2464 BE/1921 CE – 15 May 2542 BE/ 1999 CE), former abbot of Wat Pasalawan in Nakhon Ratchasima was a respectable meditation (Vipassana) monk. When LP Put was an abbot of Wat Pasalawan, he did many favors for Buddhism and society such as giving a dharma sermon, buying medical equipment for hospitals, supporting education for Thai students and so on. LP Put was a disciple of LP Sao Kantasiro (Wat Liab, Ubon Ratchathani ) and LP Fun Arjaro (Wat Pa Udom Somporn, Sakon Nakhon) who were famous Vipassana monks of the Northeastern Thailand.
