The Kathin festival is a traditional Buddhist ritual that is celebrated countrywide each year on the presentation of new robes to monks at the temple, as well as monetary donations in support of temple restoration. It features colourful parades and offerings to monks following the end of Lent.  
The end of Lent, which occurs in October, is the beginning of a 30-day period of merit-making.  
This affords a special opportunity for prayers to Buddha and for the presentation of gifts to monks.  
The offering of new robes is considered to be particularly meritorious and important. Other gifts include basic utensils, toiletries, writing materials, and food. Gift-giving is seen as an act of appreciation and gratitude to the monks.

Biography of LP Ruay, Wat Tako, Ayutthaya Province :

LP Ruay is an abbot of Wat Tako, Ayutthaya Province. He is one of famous guru monks of Thailand. He is famous for his holy amulets of good luck, protection and charm. He lives simply and behaves well. Thus, many people have faith in LP Ruay very much.
LP Ruay was born in December 1921 in Phachee District, Ayutthaya Province. At the age of 12, he studied with a monk at Tako School until his grade was equal to primary 4.  When he was 16, he got ordained as a novice at Wat Tako until he was 20. At the age of 20, in 1941 he got ordained as a monk at the same temple.

**LP Ruay calmly passed away on 19 July 2017 at the age of 95 and 76 years in monkhood.



On Sunday 4 October 2020 , we brought monetary donations from customers to abbot and joined Kathin event at Wat Thung Mon. May you all appreciate with this merit with us. Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu.
