Secrets of Having Good Fortune
By Little Writer
Do you sometimes feel bad luck? Why do we feel it?
Everyone has their own fortune. Our fortune can be good and bad. Sometimes you feel good luck and sometimes you feel bad luck. It is uncertain because what we do is what we get. When you do good things, good things will return to you. On the other hand, when you do bad things, you will get bad things back. That means if you want to have good fortune, you have to do good things and avoid doing bad things.
Buddhism teaches us to focus on our karma or our actions. Doing good things is merit or in Thai Boon and doing bad things is sin or in Thai Bab. In Buddhism, doing good things is equal to making merit. Making merit is easy and can be done anytime and anywhere because it is doing good things such as looking after your parents, freeing animals, doing meditation, offering food to monks, going to the temple, charities, donations: teaching people knowledge or good things, helping or donating necessary stuffs for poor people, blood donation, etc. Buddhists do believe that making merit will make them happy and have good things in their lives in this life, the afterlife and the next life.
Besides, the Buddhists believe that to have a good amulet is a way to support fortune. Buddhists believe that having an amulet is up to the person who owns it. People believe an amulet will help, protect and bring good things to the owner. An amulet makes its owner feel more secure.
