Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

What do you do in your birthday?

What do you do in your birthday?

I don’t know what do you do in your birthday but I would like to tell you what Thai people do in their birthday. Thai people always "Tak Bart" (offer the food to monk) in them birthday because Thai people believe if you make merit or "Tak Bart" you will get happy and good things to you.

The offerings for offer to monk are rice, food, fresh water and dessert. Buddist use these offerings because they are necessary for life.

The processes of "Tak Bart":

1. You will prepare the offerings for offer to the monks.

2. When you has seen the monks you must say “NiMon Krap (man) or NiMon Ka (woman)" to the monk.

3. Offer the offerings to the monks

4. "Phanom Mue" (press the hands together at the forehead in sign of respect) and sit on the heels for wait the monks bless to you.

5. While the monks blessing you should "Kruatnam" (pour the water in container) for dedicate the merit to youself or the other who is you would like to give merit to such as spirit of GMT or Mae or your teacher/grand parent who pass away.

6. You must pour the water in the tree that Thai people believe the good deed can send to the other by this way.

Thai people like to offer the offering to the monks between 1, 3, 5, 9 persons

Thai people always recite this incantation before offer the offering to the monks.

“I Thang Tha Nang Si La Wan Ta Nang Phi Khu Nang Naya The Mi Su Thi Nang Wa Ta Me Tha Nang A Sa Wak Kha Ya Wa Hang Ni Pha Na Pat Cha”

This is incantation that Thai people must recite while "Kruatnam".

“i-tang may maa data bpi-dtoo nang hoh-dtoo

soo-ki data hohn dtoo maa dtaa bpi-dta roh

i-tang may koo roo-bpat-chaa yaa ja-ri-yaa nang hoh dtoo soo-ki data hohn dtoo koo roo-bpat-chaa ja-ri yaa

i-tang sap-pa tay wa dtaa nang hoh-dtoo soo-ki dtaa hohn dtoo sap pay tay-waa
i-tang sap-pa-bpay dtaa nang hoh-dtoo soo-ki dtaa hohn dtoo sap pay-bpay dtaa
i-tang sap-pa way-ree nang hoh-dtoo soo-ki dtaa hohn dtoo sap pay way-ree
