Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

Miracles of Luang Pu Thuad

When Luang Pu Thuad was a baby, his mother saw a large snake curled.
around the child’s cradle. She was very frightened. However, with an old belief that this snake
might be the Buddha’s created vision, they prayed to the snake and offered flowers and rice.
To their surprise, the snake did not harm their child and spit out a crystal ball beside baby's neck. In miracle, the baby was still asleep with a crystal ball that emits rainbow colors. Even today, the crystal ball is still installed as Wat Phra Kho in Songkla with many stories of its miracles.

Luang Pu Thuad was able to turn sea water into fresh water !!!

Three years of his monkhood, Bikkhu PU (formerly name of LP Thuad)  wanted to further his studies of Buddhist scriptures in Ayutthaya. Three days after sailing off the sea, suddenly storm and rough sea starts to rock the boat. The boat had to be anchored till the sea becomes calm before proceeding with their journey again. During this hard times, they consumed all of the fresh water as well as foods. All crews blamed Bikkhu PU that he brought bad luck and wanted to expel him down from the ship. Then he dipped his foot into the sea to draw a circle and told the crews to fetch fresh drinking water from the sea from where he circled with his feet. The crews then perform what was told and tasted the water himself, after satisfying his doubts and found to be drinkable like normal fresh water. Soon after sufficient fresh water were collected and stored for the rest of the journey, they proceed with their interrupted journey. After realizing the ability of Bikkhu PU, all on board kneeled down to beg their pardon from him.

LP Thuad had spent his life spreading the Dhamma for benefiting the people without impartiality. Lastly, he took leave from Wat Phra Khoh along with a young novice to preach Dhamma and helped people at various places in the South up to Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka. His second permanent residence was at Wat Changhai, Pattani. LP Thuad died in Malaysia but his date of passing away was not certain. His body was brought back to Wat Chang Hai. The annual festival to pay respect to his bone and ashes is in April. At Wat Chang Hai, visitors can pay respect during 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

Luang Pho Koon was born on Thursday, 4th October 1923. "Lord" his grandfather and a first master of LP Koon who was an influential person and very well-known in Nakon Raatchaseemah province. Thus, LP Koon learned Visha (supernatural arts) since he was young.

When LP Koon was 7 years old , his grandfather brought him to study Thai and Pali under Ah Jahn Cheum, Ah Jahn Saai and Pra Ah Jahn Lee in a temple near his house.

LP Koon was ordained as a monk at the age of 21 years old at Wat Thanon HakYai on 5th May 1944. Pra Kru Wijahn Dtigit was the preceptor. Pra Kru Atigahn Torng Suk was his Dharma teacher. His monk's name is "Paritsuttho".

LP Koon stayed in Wat Thanon HakYai to study Dharma and Samahthi (meditation) from Luang Pho Daeng, Wat Nong Poh. Later, LP Daeng brought LP Koon to meet Luang Pho Kong who was the abbot of Wat HatYai. Then, LP Koon became the disciple of LP Kong.

There was villagers hold a gun visited him and asked him go to rest in a village because the villagers met tiger footprints and afraid the tiger will injure LP Koon. But LP Koon did not fear. He told with villagers that "the tiger does not eat me because a tiger stays a tiger , I stay as for me". Morning day later, LP Koon went to receive food at the village. After he got back already.             LP Koon returned to Thailand after more than 10 years of Tudong, and reside at Wat Ban Rai, Nakhon Ratchasima province. The first time, LP Koon came to Wat Ban Rai, the temple had only an old SaLa (shether), Bot (Buddhist church) and Guti (house of monk). LP Koon seeing that was determined to develop this temple. He approached the abbot of the temple at that time, and asked him for his help. The abbot told him that the temple did not have much fund. Then, LP Koon asked the villagers and his lay disciples to source for fund. Many people came forward and helped. The total fund collected was almost 2 million Baht and Wat Ban Rai was re-built.

LP Koon was gradually gaining popularity in Nakhon Ratchasima. Whenever, people heard LP Koon wanted to build a temple or a school, many people would come forward to help. LP Koon had built many schools, temples and hospitals in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Many people who go to Wat Ban Rai, be it rich or poor, LP Koon will meet them personally and bless them. He would specially make time for the poorer because to LP Koon, the poorer need to earn a living, and thus their time is more precious comparing to the richer ones who had already have a stable livelihood.

Therefore, a person who insert the "Takrut ThongKum" have to promise that they do not be a ruffian and infringe the 5 Buddhist precepts.

Almost 20 years, LP Koon had chanted and inserted Takrut, but now LP Koon had stopped due to bad health. However, he will still meet and bless the devotees who go to Wat Ban Rai to pay respect to him.
