Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

For example of Thailand history, in 1767 (the ends of Ayutthaya reign) Bang Ra Jan was fight with Myanmar. Bang Ra Jan’s people invited Phra Arjarn Thamma Chot of Wat Khao Nang Buad for making Mongkol holy thread, Prajioud and Takrut. They believed that the amulets from Arjarn Thamma Chot can protect them from harm and help for invulnerability. For this fighting, there was only a little thousand combatants of Bang Ra Jan but they could resist 50,000 Myanmars for 5 months before Myanmars took hold of Ayutthaya. From this event, it is believe to be the miracle of Prajioud as well.

Prajioud was modified for using with boxers for several centuries.   Before boxers wear Mongkol and Prajioud, it is nessesary for trainer or teacher to chant katha for prosperity.

Person who puts the Mongkol and Prajioud to boxer’s head or arm   must be only a trainer or teacher because it is holy thing. Boxer can’t wear by himself.

While a trainer or teacher put Mongkol and Prajioud to boxer, the boxer must get attention and concentration to the trainer or teacher.
