The Biography of Prasomdej of Rakhang Temple: Prasomdej of Rakhang Temple or Somdej Toh was born on 17th April 1788. He got ordained in 1800. He was noted for the skill of his preaching, his use of Thai poetry to reflect the beauty of Buddhism and making amulets called ‘Somdej’. The amulets were consecrated by himself and other respected monks in Thailand. He passed away on 22nd June 1872 in the reign of King Rama the Fifth.
