Naga appears in Buddhist legend and is the symbol of greatness, plenty and good fortune. Thai people believe Naga exists in Mekong River. The wonderful thing by Naga is the rise of light balls that occurs every year on a full moon night when Buddhist Lent is over (15th waxing moon of 11th month according to lunar calendar). People believe Naga produces light balls to worship Buddha. That night, Naga will gather at the center of Mekong River and produce many light balls going up in the sky.

About Guru Monk:
This is Krapa Sri (Sri Sujitto)(born 1929 CE) of Wat Ban Sob Gong, Lampang Province, Northern Thailand. Krapa Sri is a direct disciple of Krapa Nanta of Wat Thung Man Tai (the same Province) whom people highly respect. Krapa Sri is a simple and solitary monk. He is a person whom Krapa In of Wat Fah Lang (Chiang Mai) once recommended his disciple who had serious illness to get holy water from Krapa Sri, and even Krapa Khaai of Wat Moo Perng (Lamphu n)praised Krapa Sri “A Monk Whom Ghosts Fear”. In fact, although Krapa Sri gets older, his mind power does not decrease because he always (every year) does meditation until reaching “Nirot Samabat” or the state of mind that is free from perceptions and emotions. This kind of meditation is advanced and can bring great power to blessing. So the amulets that Krapa Sri blessed are very powerful and guaranteed by people who can touch the power, even Krapa Chum (Chum Potigo), a senior monk of Lamphu n, said that amulets Krapa Sri really have power because angels will join Krapa Sri in blessing.

A man visiting Krapa Sri was leaving to see Krapa Korng (a friend of Krapa Sri) in another temple, Krapa Sri told the man his friend (Krapa Korng) did not reach temple yet and suggested the man to wait 15 minutes before leaving. 15 minutes later, that man was gone and when he got the temple, Krapa Korng all together reached. The man was so amazed.
