Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

“LP Noo” or “Phra Kru ChinNaKaMo”, former name “Mr. Noo Charoenwittaya” was born in December 1895 in Ratchaburi Province. After he graduated primary 4, he got ordained as a novice at Wat Nongpho in Ratchaburi Province. When he was a novice, he felt interested in magic, so he went to study magic with LP Lap of Wat Noentor, Kanchanaburi Province until he fully understood in magic. After that, he went to study with LP Loong of Wat Thoongsamor in Kanchanaburi Province for 3 years.
In 1915, he got ordained as a monk at Wat Maicharoenphol in Kanchanaburi Province. Then he went to stay at Wat Khaokhor in Phetchaboon Province for one year. Next, he went to study Buddhist incantations and intensive meditation with LP Nong of Wat Khlongmadan in Suphanburi Province and LP Jan of Wat Banyang and LP Chaem of Wat Takong in Nakhonpathom Province. When he studied magic with LP Chaem, he met LP Te of Wat Samngam, Nakhonpathom Provine who was a disciple of LP Chaem.
After that, he was invited to be an abbot of Wat Kataiten in Kanchanaburi Province. It wasn’t long after that, he resigned because he got bored with cooperation with the committee of the temple. He lived as a layman in Phetchaburi Province. However, he always did meditation and practiced dharma.
In 1959, LP Noo got ordained again at Wat Kudbangkhem in Phetchaburi Province. After that, people in Thoonglaem District, Ratchaburi Province invited him to be an abbot of Wat Thoonglaem.
He accepted their offer. He developed Wat Thoonglaem and made there prosperous. He was respected by a lot of people. He passed away on the 9th September 1986. His body hasn’t been rotten and is kept in the transparent coffin at Wat Thoonglaem, Ratchaburi Province.
