Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

The Biography of LP Dool, Wat Buraparam, Surin Province:
LP Dool (CE 1887 – 1983) was one of famous monks in Thailand. He was a former abbot of Wat Buraparam in Surin Province. He was a good monk whom a lot of Thai people still love and respect.
LP Dool was born on the 4th October BE 2430 (CE 1887) in Surin Province, the reign of King Rama V. In his childhood, he was a diligent boy. He helped his parents work. He was interested in Buddhism very much. He was not like most teenagers, he wanted to get ordained. He asked his parent for that but they refused because they wanted him to work. LP Dool asked them many times and they allowed him later. In BE 2452 (CE 1909), at the age of 22, he got ordained as a monk at Wat Choompon Soottawas, Surin Province.
After ordination, LP Dool set his heart on meditation practice and monks’ subjects. He practiced meditation with LP Aek, Wat Kor Ko in Surin Province. He achieved the highest level of Buddhist scripture study. Then he met LP Mun, great monk and accompanied him on a pilgrimage.
For almost one year, he left LP Mun to go another place with 4 monks in his contemporary: LP Sing, LP Boon, LP Seeta and LP Noo. LP Dool learnt dharma and meditation from LP Mun.
LP Dool was a good monk all his life. He appreciated dharma of Buddha and always taught people Buddhist way to live. His Majesty the King Bhumibol once came to Wat Buraparam to visit LP Dool. In BE 2526 (CE 1983), LP Dool calmly passed away at the age of 96. Today, LP Dool is still in Buddhists’ hearts.
