Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

About Krapa Chaiyawongsa Pattana

Krapa Chaiyawongsa Pattana was revered by the Karen's in Lamphun Province. He was a pioneer development monk leading the Karen Hill Tribe to do good, behave properly and improve their way of living.

Originally, Baan Phra Bat Huai Tom was named ‘Baan Huai Khow Tom’, and was formed as a proper village, but just featured a monastery (named Luang Pu Krapa Wong lent). In the past, Luang Pu Krapa Wong travelled around by walking between each of the villages of Paka kao Yo found throughout the hills of the northern Provinces of Tak, Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, and Lamphun Province. As a result, many villagers grew to respect and follow Luang Pu Krapa Wong. Until Krapa Chaiyawongsa Pattana began to stay at Wat Phra Phutthabat Huai Tom, there was a lot of followers from Paka Kao Yo who came to stay and settle down at Baan Phra Bat Huai Tom. Eventually, they began to eat vegetarian food just like Krapa Chaiyawongsa who pointed out the disadvantages of consuming meat and taught and inspired the people of Paka Kao Yo to change their diet. As a result, the villagers started to believe in Buddhism instead of ghosts. Phra Bat Huai Tom is another peaceful community area which has a way of life closely linked to Buddhism and the doctrines of the Buddha and was officially designated as a village in 1975.

Krapa Chaiyawongsa Pattana, whose former name was Chaiwong Tanam, was born on April 22, 1913, as the son of Noi Chanta and Mrs. Bua Kaew. His family was a poor farmer but had faith in Buddhism. At the age of 12, he became a vegetarian. Then he was ordained as a novice with Krapa Chai Lanka as his preceptor, receiving the name Chai Lanka after his preceptor's image.

as a novice Despite being physically abused by friends But he was always patient and forgiving. He also followed Krapa Chai Lanka on a pilgrimage to various places until he was ordained at Wat Phra Phutthabat Tak Pha. With Krapa Phromchak as his preceptor, he was given the nickname Chaiyawongsa and continued his pilgrimage until he met the Pgakenyo people. Later, they worshiped him so much that they turned to Buddhism. Moved to settle around Wat Phra Phutthabat Huai Tom, keeping the 5 precepts and being a vegetarian like him.

When he was 22 years old, he heard the news that Krapa Srivichai led people to build a road up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. He therefore brought part of the Karen people to help with him until he was finished and returned to stay at Wat Chom Mok, Omkoi District. had set up a pilgrimage to Krapa's disciples and forced them to leave the Sikhism Including Phra Chaiyawongsa was also taken away by the parish priest. So he changed to take possession of white cloth. but still strictly maintains the monks' observances as before Then went to help Krapa Srivichai to complete the restoration of Ban Pang Temple and then continued the pilgrimage until the age of 28 years Krapa Sriwichai passed away. He helped with the funeral and came to live at Wat Pa Phlu. ordained again By Krapa Boonma, Ban Hong Temple, he was the preceptor and was nicknamed "Cantawaangso".

He took a pilgrimage to renovate various temples until he was 34 years old, so he was invited to renovate Wat Phra Phutthabat Huai Tom. And remember the Buddhist Lent here all along.

Krapa Wong is ill with heart disease. Received treatment at Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital Until his death on May 17, 2000 at age 87 years old (69 years in monkhood).
