Objectives: This year 2014, Wat Srijanpradit is 50 years old. On this occasion, the temple built the amulet collection for people to worship in order to make money to build the monk house.

Ceremony: For holiness, Wat Srijanpradit invited LP Thaweesak, a famous sacred guru monk to bless this collection.

About the Guru Monk:

If we talk about guru monks who have been famous until now, one we have to talk about is “LP Thaweesak” or “Suea Dam” (birth: 13 Feb. 2467 B.E. / 1924 C.E.) who was once a famous robber in Thai history.

Go back to World War II (about 1942 C.E.), there was an uncommon robber named “Suea Dam”.  Suea Dam was a good robber like Robin Hood because he took money from the rich to help the poor. A robber in black with a gun was a signature of Suea Dam. One thing that made Suea Dam different from other robbers was letting person know of robbing in advance. He had told the rich about robbing before he really did for weeks. Another thing, he was polite when he robbed.

Suea Dam was very skillful at robbing and fighting. He was not captured easily. People said Suea Dam knew magic. He used magic to be invulnerable. However, he was finally captured by a skillful police officer named Khunphantharakratchadet (khun-phan-tha-rak-rat-cha-det).

Khunphantharakratchadet gave Suea Dam a chance to repent himself. Suea Dam accepted the offer. Then he got ordained as a Buddhist monk in 2496 B.E. (1953 C.E.) using name “LP Thaweesak”. After ordination, LP Thaweesak set his heart on dharma study and practice. He accomplished the highest level of dharma study called “Dharma Ek” like doctorate degree of a layman.

Story of Suea Dam was made into movies.

Today, Suea Dam known as LP Thaweesak is an abbot of Wat SriNuanThamWimol in Nongkham District, Bangkok. He is more than 80 years old but still strong. He is a good monk. He also built advantages for Buddhism such as building the temple, the school and the monk hospital, etc.

LP Thaweesak became famous when he participated in the big blessing ceremony in 2550 B.E. (2007 C.E.). That event made people amazed because LP Thaweesak blessed so holily that amulets jumped out of the bowl.

In 2011 C.E., LP Thaweesak was invited by the TV program to get an interview. During interview, LP Thaweesak told his story when he was a robber and his superb Katha (spell) that could stop the bullet. With his good, LP Thaweesak is respected by many people. He always teaches people to do good things for good life.
