History of Wat LohSutTha Was
.............Wat LohSutThaWas is the interesting temple in Angthong Province. This temple was built a long time ago. It is more than 100 years old now. This temple involved Somdej Toh, a timeless monk of Thailand.
..............Go back to hundreds of years ago, a millionaire named “Loh” who had strong faith in Somdej Toh, held intention of building the temple. He went to Somdej Toh for his project. Somdej Toh approved and kindly told the auspicious date and position for construction. Mr. Loh followed Somdej Toh’s guidance. When he finished the temple, he invited Somdej Toh to give a sermon for auspicious beginning and to be the president of building Somdej Toh statue ceremony. Mr. Loh built Somdej Toh statue in sitting posture situated in the chapel in order to honor him. He named his temple after his name as “Wat LohSutThaWas”.
The Temple Today…
..............Wat LohSutThaWas has been being developed. Now, LP Paitoon, a present abbot develops many things in the temple. He develops his temple together with serving social. Every year, Wat LoSutThaWas gives scholarships for good poor students, holds dharma activity on 5 Dec. for king’s birthday celebration and donates coffins with free cremation for poor dead people. In addition, the temple has remedy service for people 24 hours.
.............The budget for those comes from donation from people. So, donation is the way to support useful projects of Wat LohSutThaWas. Let’s make merit with the temple.
