          The 'posture' in Thai call 'Pang" that everyone has Buddha posture that suit your birth month  for worshipping or take tiny Buddha image with yourself such as the one who was born in Rat year, Buddha image Pang Proad Arawakayak is suit for him. Thai people pay particular respect to Buddha posture matching their year of birth for strengthen fate, luck and merit.

 Phra Phuttharoop Pang Proad Arawakayak

For the one who was born on the Rat year.


 The legend:

            Once the King of Alawee who likes hunting loses his way to the Alawakak Giant and wants to kill the King.  The King begs the head of Giant that he will send a man to his meal one per day.  Until the Lord Buddha knew the truths, he goes to teach the Giant until they have received the bright in their minds and became the good insight in Buddhism.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in Samati, the left hand is on the leg, the right hand is in the level of breast and is teaching as Pang Pathommathessana.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Prode Phuttha Manda

And

Phra Phuttharoop  Pang Ham Samut

 For the one who was born on the Ox year.



 The legend:

            In the second class of heaven, the Lord Buddha goes to teach his mother when Phra In knows, he invites every God to hear the teach.  Finally, the Lord Buddha’s mother is in enlightenment.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in Samati, the left hand is on the leg, the right hand is on the level of the breast. 

 

 The feature:

This represent Standing Buddha. Both hands raise over chest. Open arm at front like a prohibit that is similar to Pang Ham Samut. This style is popular for makign amulets.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Proad Pakaprom 
 For the one who was born on the Tiger year.




 
The legend:

            Thao Phaga Phrom believes that every thing is stable, not change which is different from the Lord Buddha.  At the end after the Lord Buddha makes a  magic by walking on the Thao Phaga Phrom’s head without any knows of Thao Phaga Phrom.  When he knows he change his mind and make his mind to the Lord’s teaching until, he finds the truth and has an enlightenment in his mind.

 

 The feature:

            The Lord Buddha is on the head of Thao Phaga Phrom that he is sitting on the cow, Asupharaj.  The two hands are on the leg of the front and the eyes go below.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Athittan Ped Bunpachit

For the one who was born on the Rabbit year.




 The legend:

            It happens on the Anoma river.  The Lord Buddha have strong mind to be a monk and pay attention to his mind that if one day he is finished in Buddha taught, he will come back to pray for his relatives in the end.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in Samati, the left hand is on the leg while the right hand is in the level of the breast.  That is very beautiful for obeying and trusting in mind for being a monk in a Buddhist way of life.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Proad Onkkulimarn Joan

For the one who was born on the Dragon year.



 

The legend:

            Ahingsa Guman is the son of Phakkawa Bhraman and Muntanee , studied at Tisapamok of Takkasila.  He convinces his teacher to kill 1,000 persons and brings their fingers to him as a necklace.  But this event is not finished because the Lord Buddha has helped him from killing Ahingsa Guman or Oong Kuliman’s mother and found the enlightenment from the Lord Buddha’s taught.  Finally, he became Phra A-Ra-Han.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in the standing situation, the left hand is in his body, the right hand is in the level of breast.  The fingers are straight and bend the hand to the left.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Song Rub Oltakang

For the one who was born on the Snake year.



 The legend:

            One day, when the Lord Buddha’s eating the meat and has a bloody cough. The Lord Buddha has illness but he goes to Kusinara.  Between the routh, he beg for a water from Phra Anon  until the 3rd time, Phra Anon give the clean water to the Lord, but when it is in the Lord’s hand, it is clearer than before with a miracle for every monk.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in Samati, the left hand is on the leg, the right hand carries bat for receiving water.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Soan Khem

For the one who was born on the Horse year.





  The legend:

            When the Buddhist cloth of Phra Anurutha is old, he finds from the bin that has an orange cloth to build the Buddhist cloth by the Lord Buddha’s help, Son Kem, with others until finishing.  This events bring glad to all of monks.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in Samati, two hands are lifting in the level of breast, the left hand is touching the needle while the right hand is touching thread for Son Kem action.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Pratanporn (standing)

For the one who was born on the Goat year.





 The legend:

            Nang Visakha has a kindness to serve the abbot’s food and drug and so on.  Then the Lord Buddha gives her many wishes that made her look young until she is 120 years old.  That’s because of her good merits to the Lord.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in the standing, the right hand is raised as the level of the breast and straight to the front.  The left hand is in the leg level that is going  on the front.

 


Phra Phuttharoop Pang Prathom Bun-Yut

For the one who was born on the Monkey year.



 

The legend:

            Sutin Kalantabut, the son of millionnair, has the way of Buddha in his mind, so he goes to ordain without the dis-judgement of his parents.  One day he has a sexually sex with  his servant for having a heir from the property of his parents.  He displeases and tells to another monk to know the truth.  When the Lord Buddha knows he makes a first rule that if the abbot has sex, he will depart from the monk immediately.  But for Phra Sutin at that time, there is not this topic of this rule, so he is not do any mistaken.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in Samati, raised his two hands to the front.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Rub Matupayas

For the one who was born on the Rooster year.




 The legend:

            When Nang Suchada goes to the resident of the Lord Buddha, she gives Matupayas rice to the Lord by the golden tray.  The Lord Buddha is receiving sincerely.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in Samati, some type the leg is on the floor.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Chea Akkarasawoak

(pointing to the junior abbot)

For the one who was born on the Dog year.




  The legend:

            When Upatisa and Golita finish their enlightenment from the Buddha and bring their colleaque to find the answer of way of life by listening to the Lord Buddha’s teach.  When the Lord Buddha sees them, he calls them Phra Sareebute (Upatisa) and Phra Mokanlana (Golita) who expert in the wisdom and magic respectively.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is in sitting status, the left hand is on the leg, the right hand go to straight ahead for declaring the Sonk’s committee.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Proad Phraya Chombodee

(Pang Song Krueng)

For the one who was born on the Pig year.




 The legend:

            At one time, when Phaya Chompubodee goes  to battle with Phra Jao Phimpisan.  Phra Jao Phimpisan consults with the Lord Buddha.  The Lord Buddha helps him by make a wish to the battle as a paradise and pray until Phaya Chompubodee changes his mind and ordains at the last with his wife and son.

 The feature:

            This Pang is in sitting status, the left hand is on the leg, the right hand is backward at leg and uniforms as a King.
