Phra Phuttharoop Pang Plong Gammattan

  The legend:

            Once when the Lord Buddha stayed at Krung Sawatthi,  Nang Punnathasi was dead.  They wrapped with the large size of the white cloth .  The Lord Buddha wanted to wash the white cloth and when Thao Sahassanai knew the Lord Buddha’s thinking , he made a wish by the pond that was clear of water.  The Lord Buddha washed the white cloth until finished without the bad odour.

 

 The feature:

            Phra Phuttharoop Pang Plong Gammattan  (Pang washing the dead white cloth) is in a standing, the left hand is helding a stick, the eyes are lowered is an action to wash the dead white cloth.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Chee Man

For the one who was born on February.


 The legend:

            When Phra Khotik Tera nirvana, the devil wants to follow  with so the devil changes his status to a cloud.  But, the devil cannot see Phra Khotik,  the Lord Buddha knew this event so answer to the devil when the devil change his body to be a little wise man to meet the Lord Buddha.  The Lord Buddha answers that Phra Khotik is nirvana, the devil disappear suddenly when he knew the truths.  The Lord Buddha teaches that the devil will not find the way of Phra nirvana anymore.

 

 The feature:

            Phra Phuttharoop is standing, the left hand is in his body, the right hand is raised in the level of face and direct his hand to the front.


Phra Phuttharoop Pang Pratan O-vat (words) or

Pang Sadang Ovatapatimok

For the one who was born on March.

 


 The legend:

 

            This Pang is the origin of  Wan Makhabucha. After the Lord Buddha has nirvana, there are four main events that called Jaturongkasannibat at Phra Veruwan Maha Viharn at Krung Rajakruk as the following:

1.      It is the Wan Phen Duen 3.

2.      There are 1,200 roops of monks to plus without the appointment.

3.      All monks are Phar A-Ra-Han.

4.      All monks are the ones who the Lord Buddha ordained to.

 

 The feature:

            Phra Phuttharoop is sitting in Samati figure, the two hands are raising and touching his finger in the level of breast that means to give Ovatapatimok.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Nakawalok

For the one who was born on April.

 

 

 The legend:

            When the Lord Buddha went to Vesali City to Sai-bat (gave the things to the monks)  he finished and went out of the city, the Lord Buddha looked at this view and said that this is the last time for me to went back to this city.  So, the city was called Nakawalok Jedi.

 

 The feature:

            Phra Phuttharoop is standing, the left hand is in his body, some types it hang in the front, the right hand is in the level of breast.


Phra Phuttharoop Pang Kunthararaj or

Pang Khor Fon (standing)

For the one who was born on May.

 

 

  The legend:           

 It is the symbolic of the Lord Buddha’s kindness for begging for raining in the second time.

 

 The feature:

            Phra Phuttharoop Pang Kunthararaj (Pang Khor Fon) is standing with Phar Arb Nam Fon (the calling for rain cloth).  The right hand is Kwak and begging for raining, the left hand is open to receive the falling rain.  This Phra Phuttharoop is using in begging rain in the ceremony.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Manvichai

For the one who was born on June.

 

 The legend:

 

            There are the head of evil called Wasawadee with his elephant named Chang Kirimek brought the battle for devastation the Lord Buddha.  Phra Thoranee help the Lord Buddha until the evil is defeated.  The final words are the Lord Buddha has win from the bad things indeed.

 

 The feature:

            Phra Phuttharoop Pang Manvichai is sitting in Samati, the left hand is on the leg, the fingers point into the floor.  It is popular for building this Pang for the president of Phra because it symbolized of nirvana.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Ruen Gaew

For the one who was born on July.

 

 The legend:

            Reaching to the 4th week after the nirvana of the Lord Buddha, he is sitting in a Samati way on the glass house that Gods build to for the Lord Buddha in the northwest of the Sri MahaPho tree.

 

 The feature:

            Phra Phuttharoop Pang Ruen Gaew is sitting in Samati in Ruen Gaew (glass house) by the left hand is on the leg, 


Phra Phuttharoop Pang Pathom Tesana

For the one who was born on August.

 

 

 The legend:

            The Lord Buddha finds the one who suits for Tesana’s receiving and the Lord Buddha thinks of the five of Panjawakee to hear the Thammajak Kuppawatana Soot at Isipatana Malukataiyawan, Parannasri  on Kuen 15 Kham Duen 8, so they are nirvana.

 

 The feature:

            Phra Phuttharoop Pang Pathom Nithessana (Pang Sadang Thammajak) is sitting in Samati, the right hand is as a circle feature or Thammajak symbol, the left hand is on the leg.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Phatakij

For the one who was born on September.

 

 The legend:

            At that time, there are Yod who is a son of the millionaire and Suchada who are the love of their parents.  There are three castles for them and a lot of girls who are their servants.  One night, he after sleeping and woke up, he saw sleeping’s servants are like a corpse and made him sad. So, he went of the house and saw the Lord Buddha and in the morning, the Lord Buddha went to have supper with the millionaire, Yod’s father.

 The feature:

            Phra Phuttharoop is in sitting situation, the left hand carried bat that is on the leg while the right hand is in his bat that means he’s eating.


 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Praditsatan

Roi Phraphutthabat

For the one who was born on October.

 

 

 The legend:

            There are three parts of this Pang:

1.      When the Lord Buddha went to Sadjaphant mountain for changing Lersi Sadjaphant his mind for nirvana.  At that time, the Naga begged the Lord Buddha to print his foot for recollection of Sadjaphant incident.

2.      Sadjaphant asked the Lord Buddha to print his feet to the end of the mountain.

3.      The King of Gosumphee wanted to give the Lord Buddha his beautiful daughter, but the Lord Buddha only printed his feet to the floor that made his wife knew that the Lord Buddha can compete the karma already.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is standing, the two hands are at his side of his body.  The left foot is on the right foot.

 

Phra Phuttharoop Pang Leela

For the one who was born on November.

 

 The legend:

            Phra Phuttharoop Pang Leela is the reminiscence of  the pattern that the Lord Buddha goes to teach all kinds of people and animals.

 

 The feature:

            This Pang is standing as a man walking, the left hand is on the level of the Lord Buddha’s breast.


Phra Phuttharoop Pang Pratan Apai (sitting)

For the one who was born on December.

 

 The legend:

            When Phra Jao Achat Satru was a baby, the fortune-teller told that he will kill his father that  was a King at that time by the words of Phra Thewathat.  And the incident succeed.  The further point is the Lord Buddha, but he is not complete it but instead changing his mind for reserving the Buddha tradition.  But, finally he was dead by pulling to the underground.

 The feature:

It is the Lord Buddha sitting in a meditation way, raise his two hands on the breast.  Raise his hands to the front a little bit.  Some Pang is standing and raise his two hands go out to the front in a breasted level as Pang Ham Samut or raise either left or right to the front and anothe one is left beside the body as Pang Ham Phra Kaen Jun or Pang Ham Yard.
