Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

Next, symbol was made up to recall for virtues of the Buddha. Many places built symbol that made by burnt earth or silver plate, for example “Lotus and Horse symbol” at Kabin LaPat Country. Lotus symbol means pureness and Horse symbol represents Kan Ta Ka horse (Buddha’s horse).

The Buddha legend said that Phra Chao Pa Sen Thi Ko Sol of Ko Sol country had favoured building Buddha image from Kaen Chan wood to recognize Lord Buddha while Buddha had gone at second heaven for  his mother. This is the first time of building Buddha image in this world.

However someone said that the Buddha image made from Kaen Chan wood was only a legend because no evidence exist.

Regardless this legend, building Buddha image was to believe first operation in 7th Buddhist era in Kan Tha Raj country. Kan Tha Raj was at North of ancient India (Nowadays is in North-South of Pakistan and East of Africa). People who first built Buddha are not Indian but they are Ionian (Greek). The assumption for building Buddha image started from Phra Chao May Nun Der or Phra Chao Mi Lin who was a king of Kan Ta Raj country.

Buddhism was propagated by Phra Chao Asoke Ma Ha Raj.  Ionian had great respected in Buddhism. Phra Chao Mi Ling was very faith in Buddhism. He nourished Buddhism until Buddhism was so prosperity at that time. As a result, there was building Buddha stone pillar for worship.
