Myth about Naga
Naga is also intertwined with the history of Buddha, as seen in various legends where they play crucial roles in protecting and assisting the enlightened one. The story of Phaya Moot-cha-lin, the great Naga who provides shelter to Buddha under the Indian Oaktree, exemplifies the deep connection between Naga and Buddhism.

10. LP Tee Lek, Samnak Khao Su Namo, Phetchabun province

1. LP Narm, Wat Noi Chomphu, Suphanburi province

Phra Kru SuwanSadsanakhun, a senior guru monk who has strong meditative power and magical competence is called by people “Luangpu Narm” (also “grandpa monk” and “preceptor Narm”).

Now (2016 C.E.), LP Narm is 95 years old and has completed 74th year in monkhood (ordained in 1942) taking a position of abbot of Wat Noi Chomphu, Suphanburi province.

LP Narm was born in 1921 in Suphanburi province, got ordained at age 21 in 1942 at Wat Ban Krang in Suphanburi. After priesthood, studied monk discipline at Wat Ban Krang and also dedicated as a disciple of LP Sawai (his preceptor) to study mantras together with studying Pali, Khmer alphabets, Laotian alphabets and Thai ethnic called Thai Noi alphabets that made LP Narm have good knowledge of ancient alphabets.

Fourth year of monkhood, LP Narm moved to Wat Noi Chomphu (an old temple since Ayutthaya period combining 2 temples Wat Noi and Wat Chomphu). This temple had famous guru monks who made holy water for the nobility in the past.

LP Narm stayed with LP Kham abbot of Wat Noi Chomphu a disciple in line of LP Thao Wat Kang Kow and LP Im Wat Hua Khao and then studied mantras with LP Muean a disciple of LP Niam Wat Noi and LP Boon Wat Klang Bang Kaew.

LP Muean was an uncommon guru monk said could make troops of wasps to expel the thieves, make plenty of rice to feed all monks in the temple and make tamarind leaves into bees to drive out monkeys invading and destroying stuff in the temple. So LP Narm fully received magical knowledge from LP Muean.

LP Mui, Wat Don Rai, Suphanburi province

As for magical competence, LP Narm is incomparable although he is old and speaks a little. Even LP Mui Wat Don Rai a famous guru monk in Suphanburi was close to LP Narm and LP Narm ever went to LP Mui many times. Moreover, when LP Chab Wat Klong Jan (famous guru monk in Chainat province) was alive, he recommended people asking for amulets to go to LP Narm at Wat Noi Chomphu, Suphanburi province.

 Jow Khun Phan
past abbot
Wat Rakhang, Bangkok
 Jow Khun Thiang
present abbot
Wat Rakhang, Bangkok

LP Narm makes amulets to give out people, but doesn’t hold the big ceremony and people who received had amazing experiences. That is because LP Narm blessed amulets until they were extremely full of power like he ever said “When I was young I blessed Ngob Nam Aoi, but I wasn’t sure about its power, so I had LP Juan Way Kai Tia bless again. When he opened the box, he said he didn’t need to because I had blessed well enough”. LP Narm said more “However I wasn’t sure, so I had LP Dee Wat Phra Roob do re-blessing. When he picked up the amulet, he said it didn’t need any blessing.”

LP Narm is a good monk. The proceeds from his amulets, LP Narm uses on beneficial purposes such as restoring the temple, contributing to monk and novice education and scholarships for smart-but-poor students.
